Thread Insert 7 x 5mm MB

Special MB made thread insert.

These can repair threads that have pulled out where normal insert repairs do not cut clean threads.

These can repair horncastings, headset and other areas if need be.

To do a basic repair is like this.

• Drill out to 5.8 - 6mm
• Tap threads to 7 x 1mm
• Use a 5mm screw with plain nut, screw the insert onto the screw, lock the nut gently
• Cover the threaded screw with a strong loctite and screw the insert in with the screw untill it locks, unwind the nut and remove the screw
• You can counter bore the casting so the top hat seats flush if you need to
